Burton vs Leicester: predicted Foxes XI
As Football League One outfit Burton Albion prepare to entertain now Championship club Leicester City, Foxes of Leicester predict the Foxes XI.
Leicester’s victory over Coventry City at King Power Stadium at the weekend was a nerve-wracking time for the Blue Army. Nothing seeming to mesh correctly going forward early on. Then proceedings worsened for LCFC fans as the Sky Blues took the lead. The end was no better as a nail-biting nine long minutes of added time ensued.
However, giving every Leicester supporter hope is one man: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. To be fair, fluidity came to the east Midlanders when Kelechi Iheanacho replaced Jamie Vardy. ‘KDH’ was among a number of Foxes to eventually stand out.
Predicted Leicester City starting XI for Burton Albion League Cup clash
Burton are currently 19th in the third tier of English football. However, the Staffordshire side have only played one match so far this season; the Brewers lost to Blackpool on Saturday. That result is not the best preparation for their Wednesday evening contest with recently relegated but still dangerous former Premier League outfit Leicester.
Although, the east Midlanders will not field a full-strength lineup for the trip to Burton. This is the lesser cup and regular starters are often replaced by peripheral players. This gives the home club more of a chance of conquering the Foxes and making it past Round 1 into Round 2 of the competition.
Therefore, predicting the LCFC XI may not be as difficult as usual. But that may also be wishful thinking on my behalf. Occasionally a few experienced stars begin these fixtures, but I think many changes are probable. FoL’s expected City team is below:
Jakub Stolarczyk; James Justin, Harry Souttar, Ben Nelson, Timothy Castagne; Marc Albrighton, Hamza Choudhury, Dennis Praet, Wanya Marcal-Madivadua; Patson Daka, Kelechi Iheanacho.
