Leicester player ratings from 1-0 Huddersfield win
The first half was shaky. Leicester had their moments but Huddersfield was pushing the Foxes to their limits. Pearson was consistently in Iheanacho’s business and he made the Nigerian striker useless in this game. Praet had an easy one on one opportunity in this game. Unfortunately for the team, he was not able to finish the shot. Huddersfield was close to creating serious chances at scoring. Thankfully Faes and Doyle were strong on the back line.
The lone goal of the game was scored in the second half. A pass from KDH gave Mavididi a shot on goal. He sent the shot at the near post and was able to nutmeg the keeper for the goal. It wasn’t the prettiest goal you’ll ever see. However, a goal is a goal and it is when the East Midlands team win the game. The rest of the game consisted of Leicester trying to waste time and hang onto the win. This victory makes Maresca’s side two for two in their EFL appearances.
Player ratings
Stolarczyk 7: This was a great showing from the Polish keeper who is now two for two in clean sheets in his back to back starts. Compared to the game against Burton Albion, Stolarczyk was tested more this game and he delivered. He made three saves today. He could potentially be fighting Hermansen for his starting spot if he keeps playing like this.
Doyle 8: What a performance from the 19-year-old loanee. I was confused why he was selected to play as a fullback. After this performance I can completely understand Maresca’s reasoning. He was brilliant attacking wise and defending. On the attack he created two chances and went 80% on accurate passes. On the defensive side of the ball, he had seven clearances, 6 recoveries, and won 77% of his duals. Unreal performance.
Faes 8: This is the player I wanted to see in the Premier League. He showed his potential for quality in the EPL. However, I felt as if he was too reckless and was frequently out of position. Maresca has drilled him to be a smarter player and it shows. He is still making unreal tackles and yet is rarely out of position. The Belgian is without a doubt one, if not the best defender in the league.
