Leicester City player ratings

Mads Hermansen. The Danish stopper controlled his box effectively throughout. He had very little to do in the first half, in terms of shot stopping at least. His distribution, a vital component of Enzo Maresca’s style of football, was good, except for one, almost calamitous, mistake in the second half. In the second period, the keeper had much more to do. He was commanding in the air and made one stunning save. This alone should have been enough to win him the man of the match accolade, but his later mistake almost resulted in a Norwich equaliser and therefore he gets an 8 and has to share the award.

Hamza Choudhury. The Leicester-born midfielder had a steady game in his first start of the season taking on the inverted full-back role usually undertaken by Pereira. Got a knock in the second half and was substituted. 7

Wout Faes. Another top performance from the The Belgium centre back. Repelled most of Norwich’s attacking threats. 8

Jannik Vestergaard. Gone are the question marks about the selection of the Big Dane, an ever-present this season. The Foxes fans even now have a song about him; high praise indeed. At this level, at least, he looks a very good player. There is no doubt that Maresca’s style of play suits him. His height and strength were really assets against the Canaries too. 8

Callum Doyle. After one or two relatively poor performances, the Manchester City-loanee was back to something approaching his best. Defended well and worked effectively with Mavididi on the left. 6

Harry Winks. The midfielder was imperious, playing his pivot role to perfection. He was always available for the ball and on numerous occasions converted defence into attack at pace. He is turning into a great signing for the King Power club. 8

Cesare Casadei. A first start for the Chelsea loanee was long overdue. Struggled to get into the game, though, too often being crowded out and dispossessed. Replaced by Ndidi after 57 minutes, there will be more to come from him. 6
