Star Leicester City and Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has denied reports from the summer which alleged that he sought a transfer, as huge clubs circle. Foxes of Leicester explain the situation and offer our obligatory view.

Ndidi is doing alright this season in a new attack-minded role. As he can still apply his intercepting and ball-winning skills, he could end up flourishing. Though rumours of Barcelona’s supposed interest feel rather fanciful, Ndidi has always had his fans. Maybe a lowly Barca squad capacity was the proposal.

In spite of other clubs eyeing him recently, Ndidi claims that he never thought he would leave during the transfer window. The Nigerian goes so far as to say that he did not want to exit in that period, and even laughed at hearsay.

Well-liked Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho also talks transfers and possible exits

Iheanacho has produced four goal involvements in 10 appearances this campaign. That is a promising return which he will hopefully build upon as the weeks turn into months of 2023/24. The Super Eagles favourite is an accomplished top tier striker, currently helping Leicester get back to that very level.

Over the offseason especially, there was speculation over the former Manchester City man’s future with the Foxes. You see, Iheanacho only has one-year remaining on his existing LCFC deal. This type of situation, while at a club such as Leicester, always ensures that admirers come out of the woodwork.

However, the centreforward has reiterated his intention to aid the east Midlands side in making an immediate English top-flight comeback. Whilst acknowledging the talk concerning his status with the Leicestershire team, Iheanacho also highlighted his love for the club. He made sure to say that it is a good place to be at. The attacker appears to be focused on getting the side back to where they belong.
