January, and the opening of the transfer window, will soon be upon us. Here, we look at the possible ins and outs at the King Power.

Until a couple of weeks ago, it was widely assumed that only a few minor tweaks were necessary to the Foxes squad with, perhaps, more focus on who was going to leave than who was going to arrive. However, back-to-back defeats to Leeds and Middlesborough, and the narrowing of Leicester’s lead at the top of the Championship, have exposed weaknesses which must be addressed in the New Year.

With Leicester’s bloated wage bill, the reality is that the number of new arrivals will largely depend on who leaves. Some of the fringe players, such as Patson Daka, Harry Souttar and the goalkeeping pair of Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen, may move on thus freeing up some space in the squad. More concerning is the familiar problem of key players whose contracts are running down. Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Jannik Vestergaard will be able to leave for free next Summer and there is no sign yet that they will extend their stay at the King Power.
