Jamie Vardy has left Leicester City. His next destination is a fascination for media interests and, seemingly, fans of all clubs including the Foxes. He could stay in England, go to Scotland, Italy or even America. Plenty of clubs are said to be interested in taking his services. Yet a new and slightly surprising team has now reportedly entered the race to sign the ex-England striker.
Jamie Vardy latest
Jamie Vardy is no longer a Leicester City player as we enter the final week of the 2024/25 Premier League season. If you were not aware, Vardy will not feature in the final match of the current campaign against Bournemouth. Apparently, he wanted to end his Leicester career at home in front of the Blue Army faithful at King Power Stadium.
Thankfully the iconic Foxes star managed to produce a finale written in the stars via his 200th Leicester goal bagged on Filbert Way against Ipswich Town with the fan base in attendance. While we usually focus on footballers who actually remain at LCFC on this website, this case is special and an exception.
So, where is Vardy likely to end up? Well, the retired England international considers himself still good enough to play in top flight games in Europe's top five leagues. And I wouldn't put it past him to do just that!
A new and surprise club enters chase for Leicester City legend Vardy
Vardy probably won't compete in the Championship next term. It is probable that he'll be in an elite division. I'm sure his ambitions remain lofty. He might even want to play in Europe again.
"Crystal Palace are considering a shock move for Jamie Vardy with the veteran striker set to leave Leicester at the end of the campaign"Independent
And Crystal Palace will be in the 2025/26 Europa League. Would a free transfer to Selhurst Park be a good move for Vards? I don't think it'd be the worst outcome for us supporters or the 38-year-old.
However, the United States is ostensibly the most feasible place. Of course, Vards once celebrated elaborately as an Eagle versus Palace.
