Foxes fans desperately want their team to retain its best players, that really goes without saying. However, the ability and form of one Leicester City star could mean that scenario is difficult to realise in one case in particular. Winger Abdul Fatawu, a Ghana international, is on many people's minds at the moment. Some dazzling glimpses of his quality and productivity have already emerged even at this early stage of the season. I would say that the 21-year-old is most definitely one of the division's standout ballers.
Evidently he is a wanted man, if we trust reports on the matter. Not to mention bids most likely being on the horizon. And the interest might perhaps actually arise from significant places. Even the bigger or biggest Premier League clubs, and some significant sides in mainland Europe, may try to sign the Foxes star soon. Although, the East Midlanders totally have the upper hand ahead of potential negotiations should Fatawu request a transfer and the King Power ownership are open to a deal. Allow me to explain.
Big clubs will try to sign star Fox soon but Leicester City have the upper hand
As I indicated, Fatawu is something special. I can pretty much leave the appraisal at that: the description should speak volumes.
So we can presume that City may struggle to keep him past 2026. He could possibly demand to leave in January - though let's hope not!
Anyway, Sky Sports pundit and former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie believes Leicester should be prepared for their prized asset to be targeted in the New Year. And Hendrie named the Premier League as a prospective source of attentiveness.
"So they [Leicester] will really have to brace themselves for that because I think that will definitely happen if he continues to have this great form."FLW
Yet, as is typical, LCFC have covered their backs. They apparently dismissed a £28 million offer from Sunderland recently. Furthermore, Fatawu is contracted on Filbert Way for four more years. Meaning a huge fee is required, or he'll just stay in Leicestershire.
