If you are not aware, Leicester City went on their Championship travels to Yorkshire last night (Tuesday, October 21). Unfortunately for the Foxes' Blue Army supporters, their side was beaten in fairly drab fashion by Hull City in the latest fixture. The Tigers do deserve credit however, as do recent City opponents such as Portsmouth. Pompey came to King Power Stadium and easily upset LCFC's rhythm and momentum. The visitors occasionally showed Leicester up for what they are: an unfinished work in progress which is occasionally impotent in front of goal.
In addition to that, Hull appeared to use all of the away team's and head coach Marti Cifuentes' weaknesses against them. The East Midlanders looked vulnerable, to varying degrees, each and every time were attacked at MKM Stadium. Clearly, Sergej Jakirovic was able to have his men target (even though the Croatian/Bosnian gaffer was watching from the stand due to suspension) weak spots in the City lineup like full backs Luke Thomas and Hamza Choudhury.
The latter being played out of position is not working for Leicester; fans have noticed and are not best pleased. Previously, in spite of so many draws, Cifuentes was managing to hang on to the faith of the faithful. Now the club have lost in an unflattering and lethargic manner, fans are turning. Yet the former Queens Park Rangers boss is seemingly switching on one or two or his men.
Marti Cifuentes begins criticising Leicester City stars amid draws and defeat
After the final whistle in the Hull clash, Cifuentes spoke to media. He didn't single anyone out specifically, though he was highly critical of the squad. "It was bad, really bad" he said of the first half performance.
Yet following the Portsmouth contest, Cifuentes was happy to reference two players he believed could have done better:
"We had Jordan [Ayew's] chance and Luke [Thomas'] chance to win the game, but the second half was not at the level we wanted. I'm very self-critical, and we should have done much better," he fumed."Ghana Web
