Claim suggests Cifuentes must win these Leicester games or face sack

When Marti Cifuentes first came to Leicester City, the Blue Army fan base was promised attacking football. In addition to a hopefully fully functioning front line, it was expected that the Catalan boss would organise the team and make something of a revolution, not evolution, on Filbert Way. Furthermore, the ex-Queens Park Rangers head coach claimed that he would look to promote and utilise quality LCFC youth prospects.

Allow me to address the initial point: City's attack is worse than when we were relegated. Sure, the Foxes had the irrepressible as well as irreplaceable Jamie Vardy at that time. Though I'm just assessing the current side and stating the facts. If you weren't aware, the three recognised, senior Leicester strikers have a mere one goal between them this year!

What on earth is going on at King Power Stadium?! Certain managers would be dismissed by professional clubs for that statistic alone. Not being able to develop a firing group of forwards is arguably failure in itself. City's form and position in the Championship table implies the 43-year-old has indeed failed at this infant stage of the campaign.

I'll now analyse the third negative factor surrounding Cifuentes aside from flailing centre forwards, performances and results. While the gaffer has widely used City's most impressive and well-known youngster, Jeremy Monga, other highly regarded players such as defender Ben Nelson, Bade Aluko and Jake Evans haven't had a sniff! But all this might perhaps be academic for the team leader, because a rumour suggests he must win these games or will indeed face the sack.

Marti Cifuentes has two matches in order to turn around Leicester City form

If LCFC's current standing wasn't awkward enough, they play promotion favourites Middlesbrough next. Four days later, the East Midlanders face a trip to a desperate Norwich City. Though those fixtures could be Cifuentes' last:

"The Foxes’ next 2 fixtures, against Middlesbrough and Norwich City, could prove decisive. Defeat in either may force the board to act, particularly with murmurs of discontent growing around the club’s hierarchy. For now, Cifuentes insists he remains focused on reversing Leicester’s fortunes, but the pressure is unmistakable.

Leicester’s promotion campaign is slipping away, and unless performances improve rapidly, the Spaniard’s tenure could be cut short. What was once seen as a short-term dip now looks alarmingly like a full-blown crisis."
