There is currently a massive worry for Leicester City Football Club's Blue Army at the moment. Tell a lie, there are a plethora of worries for Foxes fans at present: points deductions, transfer bans, significant fines, ownership and executive incompetence and an inconsistent XI. Not much then!
However, chiefly among the problems facing the supposedly Fearless outfit that Never Quits right now is the impending court case versus, of all opponents, the Premier League. Thankfully for LCFC, they beat the EPL 1-0 in the reverse fixture. In all seriousness, I'm referring to the appeal which City reportedly won against the English top flight's representatives in September of last year.
Since that time, league chiefs have seemingly exacted somewhat of a vendetta against the East Midlands team. Or maybe I am just cynical and misanthropic!? That past ruling was apparently made via a technicality of sorts: the Leicestershire side had been relegated to the Championship division so the upper echelon of football was unable to secure victory.
Essentially the Premier League were adjudged to have no current jurisdiction over The King Power International Group-ran club at that stage. The skin of our collective teeth, is the expression which comes to mind. Some feel City are unfairly targeted over others; opposing views are that we have something deserved coming to us!
Irrespective, LCFC most likely would have been punished unless they were coincidentally demoted, which was the case. Trouble is brewing for sure.
Yet the fact that Manchester City allegedly broke similar rules in 'early' 2023, before Leicester, and are still awaiting possible discipline is a potential inconsistency; which could aid another Foxes appeal. This situation is disturbing or even arguably curupt - but poetntially beneficial to LCFC.
Does the Premier League give Man City preferential treatment compared to Leicester?
"With a verdict potentially to be announced before the end of this year, many Leicester City supporters have been asking why their case hasn’t been handled in a similar timeframe to that of Manchester City’s."Football League World
Leicester supporters, and neutrals, have taken to social media to point out a variability between the two Cities' prospective cases. I for one do think superclubs such as MCFC are offered occasional preferential treatment in certain instances. Whereas LCFC will undoubtedly be made an example of:
& yet we are still waiting on Man City..

Good. I have been wondering what had happened about their charges. What about https://t.co/jyBdSliPSw?

Is it 2 or 3 years on and we are still waiting for Man C punishment.

How long until the Man City charges, you’d think 100 odd charges would be a quick decision

If Leicester truly didn't stay within parameters then this season may be jeopardised. A point deduction would derail an already uneven promotion push.
