Poor old Enzo Maresca, eh?! He left Leicester City in the lurch; and then was eventually discarded by the club he left LE2 to join. But the powers-that-be at Chelsea Football Club obviously got fed up with the duplicitous appearing Italian gaffer. Though, was there more to the sacking of the former Manchester City coach in the shadow of Pep Guardiola? Yes, it seems there is; and Maresca may be, annoyingly, far from deceitful and just massively ambitious.
Results and performances have not been up to scratch on Fulham Road, to be fair. Neither are the recent displays in line with the Stamford Bridge outfit's very lofty ambitions. Even the man in charge of the Blues must have been scratching his head at the final whistle of some of the matches he oversaw in the West London dugout.
Drawing to Bournemouth at home and Newcastle United away, and also losing to Aston Villa at the Bridge in the last three fixtures - it just wasn't going to be good enough. However, as I previously indicated, the 45-year-old might have been pushed out of CFC for a different reason than form. Today (New Year's Day) we ask, even though some in the Blue Army were not happy with his exit, is Maresca linked with coming back to Leicester City?
Is Enzo Maresca connected with a bombshell move back to King Power Stadium with Leicester City after Chelsea sacked him?
It seems as though Maresca was honest with his former employees about his wish to become 'the new Guardiola' at Man City. According to the reliable David Ornstein, the one-time Foxes boss's Chelsea contract stipulated that he must inform the MCFC hierarchy of any potential new job discussions.
🚨 EXCL: Enzo Maresca informed Chelsea (twice in late Oct & again mid-Dec after post-Everton comments) he was talking to people associated with Man City about #MCFC manager position if/when vacancy arises. #CFC contract obliged 45yo to do so @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/ZiqfEhRlsO

Maresca did so. And now he's left the Blues. But what about LCFC? Well, Maresca is highly-regarded, and could have a chance at the Etihad. So returning to Filbert Way is extremely unlikely. No credible links exist regarding Leicester.
