Weeding out the nonsense and fabrication in football reporting is a particularly dirty job, but someone's got to do! And I'm willing to do so for Leicester City's sake, if not other clubs' sanity too. Though the sad truth is that there aren't enough hours in a day to trawl through some of the rubbish that is created, purveyed and even embarrassingly plagiarised by journalistic colleagues and editors.

Nonetheless, today we pinpoint some totally concocted disinformation about the Foxes. And I will link to a few culprits if you'd like to double check; I won't name and shame directly. Irrespective, every single media outlet and journalist that linked this famous manager to the King Power club over the summer lied, or negligently followed an erroneous trend.

Falsehoods in the media

Before we begin, and to be fair, some amazing reporters do exist out there. One or two inspired me to only write what I believe in or am passionate about. Those ethical writers would never devise a fugazi story for clicks or attention.

However, it appears that a few bad apples are willing to come up with deceitful stories or supposed information to achieve certain goals. It is worth noting that many football-specific journos unfortunately just receive inaccurate or generally wrong details from untrustworthy, unnamed sources.

Every media outlet who created Sean Dyche narrative and journalists who initially linked former Everton and Burnley manager to Leicester City were lying

In spite of what we were all told, Dyche was never coming to Leicestershire. The Kettering-born man wasn't actually interviewed for the job. In fact, he wasn't even contacted regarding the LCFC head coach role. He's admitted as much:

"The Leicester thing was a complete myth. Not Leicester, not their fault, the media made out I'd been interviewed, I hadn't been, so that was just noise."
Dyche

In a recent chat with talkSPORT, Dyche accused the media of making this untrue "noise". How refreshing to hear a notable gaffer reveal the real truth in this fashion! If you're wondering about FoL's role in all this: we merely comment on all LCFC speculation, we typically never create it.
