England international James Justin endured a woefully stagnant final season at King Power Stadium. His tenure concluded with a whimper rather than the fanfare once predicted for such a shimmering prospect.

Having arrived as a defensive (an attacking, in some ways) talent of immense promise, Justin's trajectory initially mirrored the LE2 club's loftier ambitions. Yet his influence underwent a rapid, almost inexplicable decline with every subsequent month and campaign after a whirlwind beginning.

While the full back was undeniably at fault for a staggering volume of goals throughout the 2024/25 term, appearing frequently as the protagonist in a theatre of errors, he was far from a solitary figure in that tragedy. His teammates were equally culpable, manifesting a collective frailty that saw the Leicester City rearguard crumble under even the most modest of pressures.

Since migrating to the intense atmosphere of West Yorkshire, Justin has found a redemptive rhythm at Leeds United. Though much of the LCFC faithful retain a bitter taste regarding his exit and lacklustre contributions during that final, dismal chapter.

Leicester City truth will out

However, the defender's recent candid revelations regarding the fundamental cultural disparities between the two modern iterations of these footballing institutions may offer him a measure of absolution. Justin's confirmation that a total vacuum of team unity, spirit, cohesion and organisation was the norm within the Foxes dressing room provides a haunting autopsy of their failure.

With the Whites, the 28-year-old discovered an environment where players held one another to an uncompromising standard, both on and off the pitch. A level of professional accountability he confessed was entirely foreign to him in his previous surroundings.

This admission of a fractured behind-closed-doors and a lack of basic self-respect serves as a scathing indictment of the King Power outfit's internal collapse. Suggesting that while Justin's form was poor, the rot within the side's very foundations was perhaps even deeper.
