Former Leicester favourite Heskey takes swipe at Foxes bosses

It's about time some of the trusted and still associated ex-Foxes start telling The King Power International Group how they are failing the club. Obviously not all of the ex-professionals who still appear on toothless and unentertaining LCFC media-related shows like 'Matchday Minus Two' and other pre and post-match programmes want to cover their backs.

Those employed at or by Leicester for punditry wish to continue collecting their salaries or freelance pay packets and not jeopardise an easy gig. And that's understandable. However, those of us who support Leicester City Football Club financially and who would never lie and only tell it how it is deserve honesty and transparency from our experts and one-time players.

That's why I was so very pleased to read Emile Heskey's comments on the Leicestershire side and club at large. This is his home; where his great career began. Ultimately the retired England international spoke in candid fashion. Naturally I wasn't exactly over the moon to hear him predict that we won't be promoted from the Championship back to the Premier League this season. Although, his take on how City manager Marti Cifuentes' job was made tougher is spot on.

So, what did the 47-year-old say about LCFC and the challenge ahead for Cifuentes precisely?

Leicester City hero Emile Heskey explains how Marti Cifuentes has been let down

Heskey is apparently still the 'Head of Football Development at Leicester City Women'. Whether that changes after he claimed the Leicester Men's Team head coach, Cifuentes, wasn't given the appropriate 'tools' to conduct his work correctly.

Wow. In other words, somebody who played for the side and still works for the organisation has criticised the backing given to the latest boss. Awkward.

"When Leicester appointed Cifuentes, and with any successful managerial appointment, you have to build a side that he wants and give him the tools to do his job... I think they need to consolidate for now and see where they can build from after that. Sadly, I don’t think that this is the season Leicester will get promoted"

The quote's below. I'd like to reiterate that Heskey is bang on here; it's also so refreshing to hear this emanate from someone who may actually be heard!
