While many of us are weary from another enervating international break just when Leicester City gained momentum, we don't have long to go now. That's because domestic football in England begins again on Friday evening when second-placed Championship outfit Middlesbrough entertain Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys are currently ninth.

However, LCFC's Blue Army fan base will have to wait for Saturday night for their clash with Portsmouth. The Foxes are in third position in tier two's table at the moment; Pompey are 14th at present. Due to the demand for the East Midlands team in the division, the match will be televised once again. Television channel and online broadcaster Sky Sports+ have the coverage.

But today (Monday, October 13), our focus is on the fitness of the two squads. As is typical, there is quite a bit of information from King Power Stadium, as well as several Fratton Park updates emerging to digest. For Marti Cifuentes' men, we technically have good and bad Leicester injury news prior to the Portsmouth game. Let's see what's been revealed and claimed.

Timing

If you are wondering why the fixture isn't kicking off at an earlier time (7:45pm), it is because 'local authorities advised City to take a different slot'. Leicester Tigers (rugby union) are playing at home too; The Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium is also in LE2, meaning a clash was unavoidable.

Positive and negative reports for Leicester City ahead of Portsmouth contest

OK, now for the important stuff you came for. First of all, we wish no ill on athletes, though City have a boost. Portsmouth's star player, Josh Murphy, who LCFC are interested in, is a doubt.

No.1 goalkeeper Nicolas Schmid and forward Callum Lang are another unavailable pair. So too are Thomas Waddingham, Franco Umeh and Conor Shaughnessy. Meanwhile Stephy Mavididi's hamstring could keep him sidelined.

"The winger picked up a hamstring injury during the early stages of Foxes’ triumph against Wrexham. This forced Mavididi to miss the victory against Swansea City prior to the international break. There is hope that the setback isn’t serious and could be in contention to face Pompey later this week."
