Jamie Vardy's 11-goal record might be matched in Liverpool vs Leicester

Mohamed Salah could match Jamie Vardy's incredible 11-goal record in the Premier League, if he scores in every game until Liverpool vs Leicester.
As it stands, Mohamed Salah is the best player in the world. In terms of form, the Egyptian King as he is dubbed in Merseyside cannot be beaten.
This season, Mohamed Salah has scored an incredible 16 goals and provided 12 assists across all competitions. Considering we are not even into the new year, that's a scary statistic.
What's even scarier for Leicester City fans (and Jamie Vardy in particular) is that Mohamed Salah has scored at least one goal in the last seven Premier League games. As it stands, the current record is eleven consecutive games, held by Jamie Vardy.
Jamie Vardy's 11-goal record might be matched in Liverpool vs Leicester
This means that if Mohamed Salah scores in every game up to and including Liverpool vs Leicester on Boxing Day, he will match Jamie Vardy's goal-scoring record, which has stood ever since the 2015/26 season.
Then, Mohamed Salah would have the opportunity to break the record and set his own if he scores against West Ham United in the following match, just before the calendar year ends.
Of course, Leicester fans do not hope for the downfall of Salah. There is no rivalry between Leicester and Liverpool. However, for obvious reasons, the King Power Stadium faithful will be crossing their fingers (and toes) that Salah does not take Vardy's record away from him.
It would be even more bittersweet if the record was matched against Leicester, of all teams. Let's just hope that between now and then, the Foxes keep up their great spirits so they head into Anfield with plenty of confidence.
Either that or let's just hope that Salah is playing for a new contract. If he is and he signs the thing before Liverpool host Leicester, then he will have nothing to fight for in that match... Right, everyone?
