Jon Rudkin is not trusted by the Leicester City fan base, a reality that has only solidified amidst the recent instability at King Power Stadium. Following writing on the Foxes daily and intimately knows the organisation, yours truly can attest that the Blue Army is entirely justified in remaining hostile, skeptical and deeply untrusting of the Englishman.

There was a time when Rudkin could exist as a fairly successful (albeit like a silent assassin) operator within LCFC. He is now, however, an executive cop-out. An empty suit lingering in a drowning boardroom.

While the vitriolic hate is arguably unjustifiable and threats are totally unacceptable, the profound lack of trust remains appropriate. Rudkin should have been dismissed for his prolonged neglect, if not other monumental issues, over four years ago.

The man appears to consider himself infallible, reportedly moving through the halls with an air of near-immortality in an employment sense. Rudkin, an antagonist at the stadium known to have alienated many footballers over the years (including supposedly significant friction with icon Jamie Vardy) almost never speaks publicly.

By failing to address supporters directly, Rudkin has only succeeded in harming a relationship that is effectively nonexistent. However, he has spoken for the maiden occasion since his inexplicable promotion from sporting director to chief football officer.

The CFO, of course, addressed the contentious appointment of polarising manager Russell Martin at the East Midlands club. The latter is supposedly "well-placed" to help rejuvenate the LE2 outfit during his eye-opening three-year contract.

Martin now has the ambitious objective of achieving promotion in his initial season. Rudkin's particularly complimentary comments regarding Martin represent a transparent attempt to justify his latest installation in the City hot seat.

"Russell's appointment follows a thorough process and reflects the qualities that are important for Leicester City," he said. "He is a strong leader, a clear decision-maker and someone with a defined way of working."

In addition to other indications, Rudkin stated that the Englishman who played for Scotland at international level was thoroughly vetted for the role, so to speak. The former added that Martin is a 'strong leader', a 'clear decision-maker' and someone with a defined way of working - every Leicester fan is fully aware of Martin's often dubious and cemented methods!
