Jordan James has been a wonderful loan addition at King Power Stadium this season. A brilliant, (almost) complete midfielder with top-tier pedigree. An international who is (please excuse the pun) definitely going places.
Sadly for Leicester City supporters who really, really wanted to keep the former Birmingham City man, he won't be staying at LCFC. That assessment is now widespread in the local media, and further afield. Not to mention being broadly accepted by the majority of the Foxes fan base. What a shame this development truly is!

​Unfortunately, relegation means the East Midlanders simply cannot afford or justify players of this standing and salary anymore, or, for now at least. Even if City were not ultimately relegated, James reportedly has Premier League interest, giving him a golden opportunity not to pass up.

The ostensible element which had the City faithful clutching at straws was the reported "option to buy" within the Rennes man's Leicester contract. Well, the stipulation does apparently exist, yet James has the final say on his future.
Naturally the 21-year-old is extremely unlikely to choose League One over the EPL, or even the EFL Championship. Recent dispatches indicate that the Welsh maestro has become the subject of intense admiration from top flight mainstays Crystal Palace and Everton.
Both sides view James's technical elegance as a cornerstone for their respective midfields. Furthermore, the meteoric rise of Wrexham has positioned the North Wales outfit as an audacious suitor, dangling the allure of a homecoming project backed by Canadian and 'Hollywood' ambition.
While the King Power faithful harboured dreams of a permanent residency, the harsh financial realities of the third-tier have rendered such aspirations illusory. A fallacy. James represents a calibre of talent that demands a grander stage with riches; his departure is not merely a transfer, but a mathematical inevitability.
