Jose Mourinho recently hinted at a return to management in the Premier League. It was a hot topic, as he hosted his former side Man United in Istanbul, holding them to a Europa League draw.
The former Chelsea, Tottenham and Man United manager said: "The best thing I have to do is when I leave is that I go to a club that doesn’t play in UEFA competition. So a club at the bottom in England who needs a coach in two years, I’m ready to go."
Thinking about this from a purely Leicester City perspective, it does raise some eyebrows. So, would Jose Mourinho manage at Leicester City one day? If so, what would that hypothetical world look like?
Jose Mourinho's new management plan raises a few Leicester City eyebrows
Well, the immediate answer is yes. Leicester City fit the calibre of team who Jose Mourinho wishes to manage - They are a lower-half Premier League side who do not currently play in UEFA competition.
So, Leicester has just as much of a chance as any other team around them, should they wish to lure Jose Mourinho to the King Power Stadium.
It is difficult to argue that Jose Mourinho and Leicester City wouldn't be a fit. After all, the two parties have similar footballing philosophies, in that football should be efficient and ultimately, trophies must be won.
There is a lot going on behind the scenes at Leicester. Obviously, fans are sometimes left in the dark about issues relating to Profit and Sustainability Rules and any other hierarchical struggle.
This would absolutely not be the case under Jose Mourinho, who would be nothing but transparent and the perfect man to challenge the powers that be. He's like a class clown, constantly probing at the teacher to change their ways. I hate to say it, but this might be needed at Leicester.
So, in a hypothetical world where Leicester City are on the hunt for a manager in two years time, Jose Mourinho could definitely be the man for the job.
However, Leicester fans would like to hope that by the time Jose Mourinho's contract is up, they do not need a new manager. Whether it's Steve Cooper or someone else, the Foxes would prefer to be comfortable on the straight and narrow, rather than entertaining any Jose Mourinho drama.
But then again, it would be entertaining to watch Jose Mourinho at the KP, wouldn't it?
