In spite of what are said to be active restrictions and certainly financial uncertainty and scrutiny, Leicester City Football Club are reportedly lining up somewhat of a transfer coup. This hypothetical deal would be a bit of a footballing bombshell for a few reasons.

First of all, any scouting or, indeed, signings from Brazil always make headlines in the United Kingdom. Why? That's obvious: the large and famous South American country produces some of the most entertaining and best footballers on the planet. And they have done so consistently.

The Brazil National Team, also known as Little Canary (Canarinho in Portuguese) is the most successful team in history with five World Cup triumphs (and shirt stars) to their name. They are as revered as it comes; even if contemporary form isn't as stunning!

In addition to that, the player whom the Foxes desire is actually wanted as a star of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. It is claimed that Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras would like to exercise a buy option for the Atlético Mineiro defender. Thirdly, LCFC haven't been buying of late so an intercontinental capture would be of note.

If you didn't know, we are already, shockingly, almost exactly one third through the 2025/26 Championship season. With 15 games to go and 46 to play in total, and an international break currently in effect, this feels an ideal time for a brief appraisal of Leicester City Football Club's current state.

Of course, adding more suitable and better personnel was an aspect. That leads us nicely to the King Power club's apparent targeting of Bruno Fuchs. After scouting the centre back, City's interest is now described as 'concrete':

"Palmeiras is now “on alert” after Leicester City showed concrete interest in Bruno Fuchs, even though the Brazilian club still plan to buy the defender on a permanent deal... Inside Palmeiras, the feeling is that European attention around Fuchs is growing, and the board know that a formal approach could arrive once the window gets closer... they want to exercise the €3.5m (£3m) purchase clause agreed with Atlético Mineiro and keep the defender for 2026."
