Today (Sunday, November 16), I want to bring two slightly different reports or insights to the City fan base's attention. While they do focus on performance, the piece directly focuses on on a pair of Leicester players as opposed to the entire squad as you can read here. One examination is statistical but, tye other differs.

One of the (as of now) unnamed Foxes made Sky Sports' tier two team of the year so far. The other is a somewhat surprise entry as the second-best rated Fox of the campaign. Please allow me to explain and offer my opinion. You can always Tweet (or @ us on X) with your thoughts for a respectful debate, if you disagree.

Leicester City star Abdul Fatawu included in Championship side of season

OK, let's get going because the first shout won't startle you at all! Abdul Fatawu is the man who was selected for Sky journalists Simeon Gholam and David Prutton's second division XI as of now.

Naturally, the Ghana National Team representative was picked for the right wing; and totally deservedly. He is joined on the opposite flank by Sorba Thomas of Stoke City. The striker, Carlton Morris, comes from City rivals Derby County.

"Simeon Gholam and David Prutton pick their Sky Sports Championship Team of the Season so far, with players featuring from Coventry City, Stoke City, Hull City, Charlton Athletic, Watford, Leicester City and Derby County."
Sky Sports

Brandon Thomas-Asante, Imran Louza and Matt Grimes make up the midfield. Ryan Giles, Bobby Thomas, Milan van Ewijk and Lloyd Jones are the defence in front of goalkeeper Viktor Johansson (formerly of the LCFC development squad).

Fairly shocking runner-up to Foxes crown in Jannik Vestergaard

A while back, Marti Cifuentes adjudged Luke Thomas and Jannik Vestergaard to be two of the most outstanding Foxes at that time. The gaffer spoke of dedication, efforts and his trust.

I took that proclamation as a negative indication or indictment of just how awful Leicester's recruitment has been lately. We all know the Academy is a brilliant youth set-up; Thomas is one of the products.

Although the left back isn't a great advert for Seagrave in my opinion. Superior recruitment to Victor Kristiansen would have seen Thomas relegated to a lesser role or a departure.

Similarly Vestergaard's signing and involvement isn't easy for some of us to understand. He has improved, but it is wild for the Dane to be the King Power side's second highest rated professional on WhoScored with 7.17! Fair play to him though.
