In the summer, there was quite prevalent transfer speculation concerning of one of Leicester City Football Club's most prominent assets. Thankfully, Abdul Fatawu remained with the Foxes amid the supposed interest via an established Premier league side. In addition to the English top flight regulars, a newly promoted EPL team was said to be monitoring the Ghana international as well. Sunderland and Everton were those linked.

I can assure you that many of us in the Blue Army were afraid that the exciting and productive winger would eventually leave during the previous transfer window. I wrote about that possibility fairly extensively and was particularly relieved when City's most likely talisman to replace Jamie Vardy remained on Filbert Way.

Though that may not be the end of LCFC's fan base's worries over Fatawu. Obviously any footballer who enjoys the God-given gifts the 21-year-old possesses will be targeted by significant organisations. I would go so far as to say, in our current state, City are pretty lucky to have the thrilling Ghanaian on the books at present.

This season, Fatawu hasn't set the Championship on fire again yet. Although he has an abundance of petrol ready to pump. Leicester fans and bosses will be praying that the wingman actually wants to stay! Let's hope LCFC don't have to sell in order to stabilise their finances!

Could Leicester City sell star winger Abdul Fatawu in January transfer window?

If the Toffees or the Black Cats do come back for Fatawu this New Year, Leicester must repel any hypothetical advances. Sunderland supposedly tabled a £28 million, rejected offer.

"So they [Leicester] will really have to brace themselves for that because I think that will definitely happen if he continues to have this great form."
Lee Hendrie

Sky Sports' Lee Hendrie claimed (fairly recently) that Leicester should 'brace themselves' for bids. Meanwhile The72 imply that LCFC are braced for any incoming proposals for Fatawu.

"Leicester City managed to keep hold of the attacker in the last transfer window. LCFC will be hoping to do the same again in January"
The72

Thankfully the former Sporting CP man is apparently contracted until 2029. Therefore huge compensation fees would apply in the worst case scenario. Selling others such as Victor Kristiansen and Oliver Skipp is certainly preferable.

Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia were also previously connected to Fatawu, according to this report. Thankfully hearsay is minimal right now. I would suspect next summer is the actual time for real concern.
