All is seemingly becoming calmer at Leicester City Football Club, so to speak. The majorly troubled Foxes hierarchy are set to appoint much-appreciated Marti Cifuentes, formerly of Queens Park Rangers, as their new first team head coach. He should be hired by the end of the week when personal terms and a compensation package has been settled with QPR, even though Cifuentes is no longer at MATRADE Loftus Road Stadium.
In addition to hiring the Spaniard, his former assistant manager in West London should be coming to King Power Stadium to join forces once again. As City are set to install their new boss, an underboss is also being negotiated for in Xavi - Xavi Calm that is. So, is this guy just a mush working in Shepherd's Bush? Or is the ex-Birmingham City coach pukka, the real deal?!
LCFC finally getting their act together?
Although Cifuentes is somewhat of a bolt from the blue, a wildcard, a curveball from City, he could certainly turn out to be a good choice. One or two Leicester fans are labelling the move potentially astute. So, watch this space!
The powers-that-be on Filbert Way are said to be paying £500,000 to secure him, so the man from Spain must be a decent operator. I know for a fact that many QPR supporters were sad to see him go.
Leicester City becomes more tranquil as Foxes negotiate for Xavi Calm
Evidently Foxes bosses want Cifuentes to be complete at King Power Stadium. That's because his assistant is probably the next person to be announced at Leicester. Calm, Spanish and also 43, has an extensive coaching and management career: Atlético Baleares, Cornellà, Hammarby IF, BCFC and QPR to name but a few.
"Leicester are negotiating with QPR for the release of assistant boss Xavier Calm who was assistant to Martí Cifuentes at Loftus Road with the duo set to link up again at the King Power"Pete O’Rourke
The Castellar del Vallès-born man is seemingly legit too. City are trying to come to an agreement with the R's for both men's release.
