We have breaking Leicester City news for the Blue Army on this summer Tuesday afternoon. The supposed leader in the running to become the latest Foxes manager is said to be out of the race for the top position at King Power Stadium. Former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O'Neil is no longer in contention. This claim, if true of course, evidently leaves the LCFC door open door for one man who is left standing to land the position. What's the (extremely) current Leicester hearsay?

Breaking Leicester City news today as Gary O'Neil no longer in frame to be named LCFC manager

Some pretty major sources have this week claimed that O'Neil was in the running to become the next City gaffer. He was even the leading candidate, if combined reports from The Telegraph's John Percy and Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett were accurate.

However, either LCFC executives changed their minds regarding O'Neil, or he talked himself out of being hired. Alternatively, reporting was merely inaccurate. That's because Football League World have suggested that a big twist might perhaps have transpired.

That outlet were allegedly informed that the 42-year-old's name can be 'crossed off the list at this stage. Furthermore, they reveal which person is likely to be installed on Filbert Way.

One man left standing from bookies and in the know journalists' predictions for next Foxes boss - will ex-Sheffield United head coach Chris Wilder get the nod?

From what I have seen, heard and read, Wilder is probably the more favoured candidate for the Foxes role amongst the fan base. O'Neil didn't appear to bebe a very popular choice in Leicestershire!

"Gary O'Neil is no longer in the running for the vacant Leicester City manager's job, Football League World has exclusively been informed."

The well-known twice Blades leader seemingly has further support due to his demanding style. Not to mention Wilder's track record for obtaining promotion from the Championship to the Premier League. He even helped United stay in the division, once.
