A further pair of fairly well-known bosses have now supposedly been ruled out of the Leicester City manager quest. The shortlist has gotten very short at this point, it must be said! I'll reveal the two leaders for the main Foxes position now. According to two major media sources for information, Gary O'Neil, formerly of Wolverhampton Wanderers and ex-Sheffield United head coach Chris Wilder are both in the frame. Neither appear to be too popular with City's Blue Army fan base.

You'll have to read on to discover the unnamed duo who won't be joining (I know, I'm cheeky). However, I can reveal a third name that is not associated with the LCFC role anymore. In addition to the aforementioned pair, claims now state that England Under-21s boss Lee Carsley will not come to King Power Stadium this summer. In fact, the 51-year-old was apparent never an option on Filbert Way. All will be explained!

A Foxes frontrunner emerges

If you are yet to read our piece from earlier on today (Tuesday), O'Neil has reportedly become the leader in the competition to be named City head coach. And good luck to the Englishman if he is installed by LCFC's powers-that-be. Wilder hasn't yet been dismissed as a candidate, we understand.

Leicester do want a quick resolution here, as widely stated. Although a couple of notable footballing men have now ostensibly been excluded from proceedings, suggests Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports.

Dorsett suggests that Danny Rohl and Sean Dyche are "out of the picture" so to speak. Appointing Rohl was described as "too complicated", whatever that means. I imagine it is to do with Sheffield Wednesday's hypothetical compensation.

Meanwhile Dyche purportedly "distanced himself" from the vacancy. I suspect the once Everton and Burnley man would prefer an established Premier League club.
