Leicester can hold out for higher fee from PL club for James Justin

As you can probably tell from the title of this article, I am not opposed to Leicester City selling James Justin. The reasons for that will be made abundantly clear, as usual. You've also likely deduced that the one-time England international, whose productivity has drastically declined, is the subject of current transfer rumours. Apparently Premier League sides are even after Justin; which I find difficult to believe, unless he would become an understudy. Alternatively, he's technically good and experienced enough to start for a relegation-threatened EPL team.

Although that last hypothetical eventuality mentioned went particularly badly for the former Luton Town man and the Foxes in the previous season. Nevertheless, and in spite of my reasoning regarding why he should be sold, Leicester should actually hold out for a higher fee for the 27-year-old who never realised his full potential. And that sentiment especially applies if rich and often imprudent English top flight clubs want to sign Justin.

Why Leicester City should attempt to obtain a higher fee from eager Premier League clubs for somehow highly regarded defender James Justin

Justin is one LCFC player who has stood out positively over the preseason schedule. However, he was pretty awful in 2024/25; earning much stick from websites like Foxes of Leicester and the Blue Army fan base at large. He was at fault for an ungodly amount of unnecessarily conceded goals!

So, despite Justin's obvious athletic prowess and ability, he must show more. Keeping him for the Championship is an option, of course. Though I feel Justin would struggle again if promoted back to the Prem.

"According to Paul Joyce, Everton could now make a move to sign James Justin from Leicester City. Justin could be signed this summer in a deal worth just £6m following the Foxes’ return to the Championship."

Therefore obtaining a fair, or ridiculously exorbitant, fee for the full back is my preference. Everton are said to be willing to shell out approximately £6 million. Whereas I believe the East Midlanders could secure up to £10m for Justin.
