One of the drastically underperforming Leicester City players during the 2024/25 Premier League campaign was a surprise entry. James Justin was an ever-present and generally reliable competitor for the Foxes in previous season, in spite of never reaching his full potential. A senior England international, the ex-Luton Town man's performances have now dipped dramatically since his Three Lions days under Gareth Southgate.

Nevertheles, the versatile full back has many sporting gifts at his disposal. In fact, you could argue that his repertoire contains everything a top flight footballer requires. Though the 27-year-old must show more quality on a regular basis among other things. That way, he may perhaps return to his former self and aid City's promotion back to the English top flight. A fully rejuvenated and hungry Justin would benefit the East Midlands side no end. This is how he can revitalise his flagging LCFC career.

How far he fell

The Justin you should be watching at the weekend or in emotionally charged midweek matches is one who flies up and down the wing and is somewhat impenetrable like a prime Kyle Walker. Obviously the former was and never will be on the one-time Manchester City right back's level - though the style should be replicated better by the Fox.

Justin was an attacking threat on his day, and did generally always recover when bypassed by a thrilling opposition attacker. Reclaiming those elements of play is essential for his future. So much so that the Luton-born baller's place in the City side could become under threat too.

James Justin revitalisation would save his career and help Leicester immeasurably - yet that scenario is not guaranteed

Ricardo Pereira is now back. The Portuguese will not settle for a substitute's role; he will work tirelessly to reclaim his starting birth. We also have Luke Thomas, Victor Kristiansen, Woyo Coulibaly and emerging talents like Bade Aluko as well.

I am under the impression that Justin has suffered mentally. Once he was playing badly, it appears he read and took criticism to heart. My advice would be to return to a fearless Fox's persona. Apparently he played well versus Zalaegerzegi.
