Leicester City defeated professional Hungarian football club Zalaegerzegi in a practice match at ZTE Arena on Saturday. The English visitors were dominant in three key areas in new manager Marti Cifuentes' debut outing: possession, shots and passes. Although, the East Midlands side would have loved to score more against Zete. Nevertheless, a clean sheet and another preseason victory is a decent day's work. But which Foxes were noticeable for positive and negative reasons in Hungary? These are the LCFC stars and youths that stood out in the Zalaegerzegi friendly win.
Progress
If you didn't watch the match, it wasn't the best. Though Leicester did show promise for a Championship campaign under Cifuentes' guidance and leadership. A more organised City emerged, as I see it.
Thankfully Jordan Ayew's well-devised and executed goal was enough to claim a win. Limiting the home club to two shots on target is a much-needed improvement to the often struggling Foxes defence.
Anyway, let's see what Leicester Mercury made of the encounter. They did note that City's press was relentless, ideally. However, which players were up for it in a chance to impress their new gaffer? And who let the team down?

First of all, 23 LCFC footballers took to the pitch. Jeremy Monga was rightly singled out for praise again. Bilal El Khannouss was the other 'star man' in the first half.

Jakub Stolarczyk was promisingly cited too. But the respectively inconsistent Luke Thomas and Jannik Vestergaard were appraised to the contrary.
Abdul Fatawu's timely reintroduction was highlighted because he was a second half standout. So too, apparently, was goalscorer Ayew.
Conor Coady gave a satisfactory display, the outlet Imply. Though Wout Faes had a superior rating, it is said. Harry Winks was favoured to Oliver Skipp in review.
"He [Fatawu] and Ayew were City's best performers in the second period."
Lastly, Patson Daka got up to his old disappointing tricks as a striker. Yet his industry wasn't questioned.
