Leicester chairman Khun Top has already broken his promise to fans

Before we entered the busy festive football period, when the Leicester City team were suffering through one of this season's many mini-slumps, the Foxes owner made a vow. Several, actually. The media-shy Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha admitted some (or all) of his own shortcomings; buying brief favour with the support. He acknowledged what must change on Filbert Way. Then confirmed his intentions to aid City in becoming a Premier League club again.

Furthermore, Khun Top essentially committed to repairing the very fractured relationship between the Blue Army fan base and the organisation. In addition to that, the 40-year-old tried to explain why his company, The King Power International Group, had not been as profitable due to the coronavirus pandemic. That in turn, he said, affected (poorly executed) business at LCFC; along with how much is invested into the team, etcetera.

Although, I would argue that Khun Top has already broken promises made during his bombshell interview with the club's (safe) interviewer well over a month ago. During the heavily choreographed and now apparently cynical and sycophantic November 14 back and forth, the chair of the East Midlands outfit vowed to 'reconnect' with the faithful.

One of the other important aspects the Thai businessman had allowed to break down or fester was communication, he claimed. Another significant element was availability or presence, as I would label it. Top has never been an ever-present at the King Power. He seemingly used to attend more often. Yet he still swore to be at more home fixtures from now on in particular.

Though we have heard nothing but meaningless and hollow programme notes. Additionally, Top has not attended any of the previous three clashes in LE2.

"It's not the case that he's stopped attending as his presence was always infrequent anyway. But after taking over as interim chief executive in a more hands-on role and saying that he wanted greater connection with supporters, fans will judge him on those words.

They will see an empty seat and wonder: are the club being allowed to tumble down the standings? "

If Top does not show up for the massive Derby County match, he admits two things: first of all, he isn't as huge a fan of City as the support. Secondly, he has definitely reneged on his word.

Polo and Prince William are seemingly more important to Khun Top. But I am not calling for him to leave yet - just to be honest, involved and improved.
