Leicester City are likely to recall their loaned out striker Tom Cannon in January. However, he strategically wants a Sheffield United transfer.
When Leicester City loaned Tom Cannon out to Stoke City in the summer, they included a smart option. The English striker is available for recall to the King Power Stadium in January.
This, of course, is worrying news for Stoke. The Potters have rather enjoyed Cannon's goal-scoring form, with the Leicester man even scoring four goals in one match before the international break.
At this stage, it is likely that Leicester will activate the option to end his loan spell in January. However, the Foxes will not sell him a dream, instead they will sell him permanently.

According to pundit Carlton Palmer, Tom Cannon would like to join Sheffield United or West Bromwich Albion. Both sides are up there with the very best in the Championship and could return to the Premier League next season.
In his own words, Palmer said: "Tom Cannon, who has scored four goals in five matches, has a recall clause in his contract from [Leicester] in January. It is worrying [for Stoke]... The Foxes are keen to cash in on the Irish forward."
Palmer continued: "And, obviously... West Bromwich Albion, or Sheffield United... Of course you're going to want to go to those clubs to be in the Premier League next season."
It would be a wise decision for Leicester City to cut the loan short and sell Tom Cannon. After all, this was their plan in the summer transfer window, but no club could meet the asking price.
Stoke City would be in the question, alongside Sheffield United and West Brom. However, it would simply come down to which team can cough up the funds to sign him. Leicester required £10m in the summer and they are likely to ask for a similar fee this time around.
This season, Jamie Vardy has started every Premier League game for Leicester City. It was for this reason why Tom Cannon was loaned out, due to Vardy eating up the available minutes.
Despite how he still continues to play, Jamie Vardy isn't getting any younger. So, an argument could be made that Tom Cannon is the natural successor to Vardy's position.
However, from Leicester's perspective, Cannon is not yet Premier League ready.
