Dom Ballard feels like the dream striker signing for Leicester City this summer.
Winning the services of Ballard would send considerable tremors through League One, with the Foxes managing to keep the current Golden Boot holder inside the division he has already conquered, even with Bristol City from the Championship sniffing around.
Currently, Leicester do stand a chance of landing the 23-goal warrior, with journalists closely connected to Russell Martin's men confirming the Foxes' interest.
He won't be a cheap signing, though, for whatever club does pick up his services...
What Leicester will need to cough up to sign Ballard
At one stage this summer, it was noted that Leyton Orient wanted £10m or more for their standout 21-year-old.
Despite his 23-goal season still being fresh, no suitor has been brave enough to flex their muscles and pay such an extravagant amount, for a striker who is still relatively inexperienced in the men's game.
Instead, the Robins have put forward a £4m bid to the O's, which has been unsurprisingly rejected, but that bid doesn't seem to be too far off a more realistic valuation for the ex-Southampton youngster.
Football League World reported at the start of July that Richie Wellens' side would consider giving up their lethal marksman for around the £5m mark, which is some drop from the £10m once bandied about.
With City just having a £4m bid turned down, Leicester must surely be tempted now to test the waters with a £5m offer, having just won £20m for Abdul Fatawu.
It would be some statement if the one-time Premier League winners were to snap up Ballard, as it would instantly raise the confidence levels that they could instantly win promotion, possessing such a potent goalscorer for the taxing level on their books.
However, with a lot of back-and-forth moves already occurring, and no end in sight for the transfer saga, playing the long game here could hurt the Midlands giants.
There will be alternative targets in mind, you imagine, with this other explosive striker for the exhausting division sticking out as a dream alternative to the Orient number 32.
The dream Ballard alternative
Jayden Wareham wasn't a million miles behind Ballard in the goalscoring charts last campaign in League One.
The former Reading attacker really came into his own for Exeter City, despite the Grecians slipping to League Two, with a sublime 19 goals amassed from 46 league outings.
Winning 5.8 duels on average per third tier contest, too, he could be just the busy body forward presence Martin desires, who will constantly harass defences, before putting away a vital strike.
Wareham was even noted as being one of the "best number nines in this league" by his ex-Grecians boss Gary Caldwell in January, after he bagged yet another sweet League One goal against Port Vale.
He could be won for a lesser fee than Ballard, as well, with speculation suggesting that his current Devon employers might give him up for around the £2.5m mark, after dropping to the fourth tier.
In an ideal reality, both strikers would be won, as Martin has zero senior centre-forwards in his limited camp, at the time of writing.
That would be a dream if it happened, as both Ballard and Wareham would set the league alight, you imagine, as a striker duo.
But, placing on a more practical hat for a second, landing Wareham would be a fine alternative, as well, if Leicester ultimately came up short in their ongoing hunt for the League One golden boot recipient.
