I would like to discuss two separate but very topical Leicester City stories with supporters today (Tuesday, November 3). First of all, it's one of our readership's favourites: transfer talk. But this time the substance is not just speculation or mere chatter - it is substantial and from the horse's mouth. So what did LCFC manager Marti Cifuentes reveal about the East Midlanders' business plans? And are King Power bosses eyeing January signings? The side requires desperate improvement in certain areas so let's hope this an auspice, or good omen!

In the meantime we have another matter to inform the Blue Army of, along with talking it over as usual. On this occasion we are discussing a former City head coach. This particular boss was pretty successful with the Foxes; at least he helped us lift a maiden FA Cup trophy. That feat is mightily significant and shall never be forgotten or taken for granted by the faithful. But where in the English Premier League is Brendan Rodgers tipped to land after another exit from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic?

Brendan Rodgers more likely to return as a Wolf rather than a Fox

That's right, Rodgers is being courted by Leicester's Midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Northern Irishman is being described as the 'shock leading candidate' for the Wolves job.

Vitor Pereira has been dismissed from Molineux, with Rodgers a potentially successor. The ex-City gaffer is said to be the appropriate and favoured man. James Collins and Richard Walker will run the WWFC show while a permanent boss is awaited.

Leicester City have New Year signings on their mind

It was great to hear that Cifuentes has been in talks with Leicester's recruitment staff of late. The 43-year-old wishes to discard some deadwood at first.

Though the King Power outfit are also seeking signings. A pertinent quote from the Catalan is underneath this paragraph:

"But while selling players is under consideration, it’s not out of the question that City will look to strengthen their squad too.

Cifuentes has held meetings with the recruitment department to look ahead to what might be needed come January. "We have constant meetings with the club,” he said. “It’s still early so we need to keep working to see how this will go.

“The reality as a football club is that every time there is a window, there’s an opportunity to try to improve and that’s always the mindset. We’re at the early stages on that but we always plan."
