Things are pretty bleak on Filbert Way right now overall. Although Leicester City are only five points off the English Football League Championship Playoffs places - we feel miles away from the Premier League in quality and mindset.
The previous, very demoralising term back in the top flight was not relished or enjoyed by City supporters. As a matter of fact, it was nightmarish; 2024/25 illuminated all of LCFC's negative factors as well as a multitude of new issues facing the East Midlanders.
To be honest, most of us knew about the problems. Yet us fans still believed that this season would turn out to be more fruitful; or at least promising. Yes, the EPL's points deduction threat looms large. But we thought we could construct enough progress to put us in a great position, regardless. How wrong we were!
With the January transfer market almost upon us, the Leicester team and their support could do with a real boost. Though we can't hold our breath in that respect due to the very same financial difficulties. If any viable loans or free transfer are available - City must utilise them. Anything to raise spirits at King Power Stadium at the moment would be greatly appreciated.
Leicester City loan star Jordan James vows not to allow Foxes to suffer consecutive relegations
While some members of the faithful may still be looking upwards - many of us are now viewing the relegation zone with suspicion. Five points might well be the gap between us and Bristol City in sixth place - but the 21st spot is incidentally a mere seven points clear.
Although City star Jordan James, on loan from French club Rennes, insists loyal Foxes must not worry about League One. As it happens, the Wales international baller claims that those of us with concern about tier three have 'have lost our minds'.
Encouragingly, the 21-year-old declares that he 'won't let that happen'! Another uplift would ultimately be securing James's permanent signature.
"If you think Leicester can be in League One, then you have lost your mind," the 21-year-old told BBC Radio Leicester.BBC Sport
"The players we have got are Premier League players and it will show. I genuinely believe that.
"I won't let that [relegation to League One] happen, a lot of players won't let that happen, the leaders in the group won't let it happen.
"For us, we are only looking up. It can change very quickly."
