Former Liverpool defender and current notable pundit Jamie Carragher has made a positive verdict on Leicester City Football Club. And Foxes fans will be undoubtedly thrilled with the Sky Sports commentator's view on the east Midlands side. The Leicester team has gotten itself on track in the Premier League recently, and the progress made by LCFC hasn't gone unnoticed by experts and writers. So what did Carragher say exactly?
But bad news could also be on the horizon for City and its supporters, which the Blue Army is used to, unfortunately. This time it is because Brighton & Hove Albion supporters, as well as journalists, have noticed Facundo Buonanotte's exceptional displays. Sadly Buonanotte is only on loan at King Power Stadium, as a Seagull. Now people from Brighton are talking about having him back at American Express Stadium. And, distressingly for the LCFC faithful, BHAFC loyalists seemingly want this to occur as soon as possible with the Argentine hypothetically in their own starting lineup.
More worryingly, amid this premature return talk, is that the 19-year-old has supposedly generated interest from juggernauts of the English top-flight, if not elites elsewhere too. It is said that Buonanotte is being monitored by outfits such as Manchester City and Liverpool. Will the talented playmaker and goalscorer leave his temporary stay in Leicestershire and head back to Brighton in a while? Or will the attacker end up a Citizen or a Red? He is probably that good, at least for a squad role. But let's hope he permanently signs for Leicester!
Jamie Carragher on Leicester City
Leicester's last-minute victory against Southampton on Saturday gave them an eight point lead over the struggling Saints. In fact, the South Coasters have only managed one point so far this season from a single draw versus similarly faltering Ipswich Town.
All this meant Carragher became impressed with the Foxes. So much so that he says the gap between the pair of promoted clubs could be too much for SFC following a mere eight fixtures. Is the St Mary’s Stadium result quite that crucial for City?
Facundo Buonanotte a wanted man
I hate to break it to the LCFC support, though it appears the ultimate acquisition of Buonanotte is unlikely. Sadly. He initially joined Albion for a fee of £6 million from Rosario Central.
Subsequently he stood out on occasion in the last campaign; signing a new contract with the Seagulls prior to becoming a Fox. Now this speculation emerges:
"Albion signed the playmaker for around £6m from Rosario Central in 2023 and just before his loan to Leicester, he signed a new contract with the Seagulls until 2028. His recent performances have also attracted reported interest from Manchester City and Liverpool.Derren Howard
But, if his current form continues, Albion will no doubt be keen to find a spot for the Argentina international in their starting XI for next season."
