The current state of Leicester City is very bleak, as the club is set to slip down to League One for the first time since 2008, if they can't mount an escape out of the Championship drop-zone between now and May.
Back-to-back relegations all the way down to the third tier could threaten the very existence of the football club, just 12 years on from Jamie Vardy powering home the goals to clinch an unforgettable Premier League triumph.
Thankfully, while the current Foxes side is struggling on life support, there are still some slight glimmers of hope that the near future will be brighter, as the Midlands giants have some hotly tipped youngsters in their ranks, waiting to burst into life in the senior set-up.
Already, Jeremy Monga has made this leap from the youth picture at the King Power to the men's team, look effortless, with the 16-year-old up to one goal and two assists from his limited Championship outings this season.
Who will be next to follow in the wide-eyed number 28's footsteps?
The starlets who could soon make first team appearances
There are several young faces, in the U21s department, raring to go, if they were called up to the first team fold by Gary Rowett.
Indeed, there's a strong young English contingent that immediately catchs the eye, with Lorenz Hutchinson an immediate standout in the attacking areas, having bagged a stunning 20 goals from 31 appearances this season, lining up for the U18s and the U21s.
At just 18 years of age, the England U19 regular is set for a big future in the men's game, if all goes to plan.
Moreover, there is 19-year-old Kirsten Otchere who has further been setting the Premier League 2 alight this season, too, with some devastating attacking displays.
He has seven strikes next to his name as the U21s top goalscorer, with Rowett perhaps contemplating a promotion to the senior ranks for Otchere, if Leicester's woes in front of goal - in the Championship - drag on.
Amazingly, though, there is another teenage talent who is already becoming the talk of the town at the King Power.
The teen sensation who is the next off the conveyer belt
Leicester are well stocked in the defence at the moment, arguably, with the addition of the experienced Jamaal Lascelles in January strengthening Rowett's options, for the time being.
Down the line, though, the Foxes would love to have a homegrown defender they could cheer on, and that might well turn out to be Obi Onwughalu.
After all, Leicester handed their first professional contract over to Monga when he was just 15 years of age, and Onwughalu is already shining, way above his age bracket.
Recently training with the U18s, the teenage sensation has also now been capped by Hungary U15s, to begin his development with his nation.
His development with the Hungary national team in this age bracket has even seen football journalist Bence Bocsak state that the Foxes have a "very talented kid" on their hands, and for us all, to "remember his name."
ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º I watched him in action for Hungary recently.

Obi Onwughalu. Seriously. Remember the name.
Very talented kid. Nice to see Hungary calling him up so early.

If relegation was to heartbreakingly occur, we would likely see faces such as Hutchinson and Otchere bumped up to the depleted first-team ranks.
In time, too, Onwughalu will fancy his chances of regular minutes on the King Power turf, with the conveyer belt at the Foxes not slowing down whatsoever, when it comes to churning out eye-catching starlets leaving an impression.
