Leicester injury returns amid nightmare for star who left in summer
Leicester City have a rather large squad, even if it isn't as talented as they'd like it to be. Therefore the Foxes can compete across the domestic fronts and have cover in case of unforeseen fitness problems or suspensions for important personnel. So which LCFC players are currently injured? And when are the sidelined footballers expected to return to action? That's if they have dates for comebacks at all.
In addition to commenting on and detailing City's injury issues, we take a look at a couple of other stories. First of all, a once fairly prominent Fox who was kind of a cult hero has not had a great season away from the east Midlands. The former LCFC forward has supposedly endured a "nightmare" start at his new club after leaving in the previous summer. What's happened with Kelechi Iheanacho and is he staying in Spain?
Meanwhile Gary Neville suggested that new England boss Thomas Tuchel should call-up a standout King Power man to his side. Is the ex-Manchester United defender on to something with his tip for the Three Lions? Or is it very unlikely that Harry Winks will add to the 10 caps he previously won playing for his country?
Anything is possible with Harry Winks a class act - but this is a stretch
Winks is not likely to be recalled to the England fold, as Foxes of Leicester see the situation. The national team do require a skilled tackler who's progressive with the ball and is also a technician.
But England will probably seek younger professionals to fill that roll going forward. People such as Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton is one of a plethora of examples I could have referenced. Nevertheless, Leicester may be more fortunate to keep Winks for themselves in an ultimately challenging current campaign.
What's going on with Kelechi Iheanacho?
Iheanacho is certainly one of those one-time players you'd generally wish well as he exits the side. A very likeable seeming chap. Yet it's not going well for him at Sevilla:
"The 28-year-old didn’t play against Barcelona or Espanyol, remaining on the bench. He has played only 272 minutes in La Liga and the feeling is that the Nigerian isn’t at the required level to play for the Spanish club.
As a result, the forward’s future is now up in the air already and he could depart in January. His contract Sevilla expires in the summer of 2026 and it isn’t a long-term deal, which could help the Andalusians to move on the ex-Leicester man."
Quintet of stars unavailable at present: Victor Kristiansen, Jannik Vestergaard, Patson Daka, Jakub Stolarczyk, Hamza Choudhury
Firstly, Stolarczyk and Daka are long-term absentees; the pair don't respectively have return dates as such. Vestergaard hasn't gone back to training yet, which is a worry. Choudhury won't be in contention for the Manchester United clash, apparently. Kristiansen is another thought to be unfit for the next fixture.
