Today we are looking at injuries, and what ramifications there may be from losing and gaining players from the treatment table. Not to mention assessing Marti Cifuentes' LCFC squad favourites, and pondering whether a returning Leicester City international star will stake a claim in the starting lineup following injury. All this is happening amid another winger's possible promotion. Will the young Fox really finally receive his chance to shine?
Leicester international returns from injury amid discussion on his importance and possible status
I would go so far to say Bobby De Cordova-Reid is a forgotten man at Leicester. In fact, I'd probably declare that LCFC shouldn't have signed the Jamaica National Team representative to begin with.
That's not to say De Cordova-Reid is a bad player. Far from it. He's just not really needed on Filbert Way; superior options exist on the roster. But you never know when injuries or unforseen issues could strike either.
Yet the former Fulham, Cardiff City and Bristol City attacker is now probably ready for action again. Whether Cifuentes will opt to use him is anyone's guess. I'd image BDCR will suffer with a rare substitute role.
Foxes winger gets promoted?
I don't suppose it is actually correct or accurate to describe Silko Thomas as young anymore, at least in a footballing sense. The tricky wideman is now 21; so it's now make or break time at the King Power for him.
S.Thomas's main problem has always been the quality the Foxes have readily available in his position. Abdul Fatawu is going nowhere. Stephy Mavididi appears to be favoured when fit.
Though Jeremy Monga could definitely steal Mavididi's place. Then we have Wanya Marcal and Jake Evans on the periphery in addition to the aforementioned trio.
However, S.Thomas's luck could be about to change. That's because City expert Jordan Blackwell believes the wingman is favourite to succeed Kasey McAteer as, like, fourth choice winger. Although Bobby D may have something to say about that notion too.
"City did lose one of Marti Cifuentes’ four main wingers in Kasey McAteer, who will now have to be replaced with one of the many internal options the club have, with Silko Thomas the favourite."Leicester Mercury
