Even though Leicester City currently still have a head coach in Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Dutchman's time on Filbert Way appears to be limited or soon over. That's because rumours are abound regarding the former Manchester United man's impending dismissal. It is said that three bosses who could potentially take over from van Nistelrooy are out of the running for the King Power position. In fact, the actual favourite for the LCFC manager job is the latest to seemingly to distance himself from the Foxes.

The state of play on Filbert Way

Three top managers have already all but ruled themselves out of the running for the Leicester City manager position. The respective trio didn't overtly state that they cannot commit to the King Power club, or that they are separately not interested in the LCFC role. However, the actions of each of the coaches supposedly on the Foxes' managerial shortlist has deemed them no longer contenders.

First of all, you have Ex-Southampton boss Russell Martin. Foxes of Leicester didn't believe he was right for the club, especially when considering the peculiar, Brendan Rodgers-esque stubbornness during his Premier League exploits with the Saints.

Liam Rosenior and Lee Carsley have now respectively signed extensions to their existing contracts with Strasbourg and England Under-21s. This means the pair are unlikely to individually join the East Midlands side either.

According to the bookmakers and some pundits etcetera, Sheffield Wednesday gaffer Danny Rohl was the leading candidate for the City job. Although, he was asked about the reported interest very recently:

"But it seems his preference is to head back to his homeland. Asked when he might get a Bundesliga job, he said: “If it were up to me, as soon as possible.”"

Evidently Rohl's reply was probably not what King Power chiefs wished to hear. The German was naturally flattered and encouraged that outfits such as LCFC admire him. Though his preference is to manage in the Bundesliga.
