Leicester is yet to dip its toes into the transfer market, but it is only early days, still.
The Foxes might be a little worried by the likes of Reading already signing Kyreece Lisbie, who set League Two alight last season, but the window is a marathon, not a sprint, and Leicester have been linked with various names to boost Russell Martin's new camp.
There will also be a desire to finally offload a lot of deadwood at the King Power, with Leicester fans likely amazed that Victor Kristiansen remains on the books of the relegated side, heading into the fresh League One season.
Kristiansen's failed move to Leicester
Joining in January 2023 for a bumper £17m, a lot would have been expected from the Dane on his arrival in England.
Playing in the Champions League for FC Copenhagen, with eight assists next to his name from 73 appearances, the hope would have been that Kristiansen could become a marauding full-back presence for the Foxes.
Instead, he has just a measly two assists from 51 games at the King Power, with last campaign only seeing him make five appearances in total, due to recurring knee problems.
Chucked out on loan to Bologna for the 2023/24 season, it's a huge surprise that the 18-time Denmark international remains on the Leicester roster.
It will be hard for Leicester to generate most of the £17m back for their failed signing, with fans on social media branding the Copenhagen-born defender as "useless" during the 2024/25 campaign, as the Foxes fell to the second tier.
Now, having further been riddled with injury problems in the Championship, and another relegation has occurred, the hopes of cashing in have faded significantly.
They must seriously regret not listening to this offer from a year ago, which would have been a great move to wash their hands of the abject failure of the £17m deal...
There will be a lot of regret they didn't cash in...
Danish outlet Bold is reporting that Martin and Co. turned down a hefty £8m offer for Kristiansen just a year ago from near neighbours Nottingham Forest.
While that would've meant Leicester had to cut their losses and lose out on £11m from the original deal, accepting this at the time should have been viewed as a no-brainer, with the 23-year-old's stock seriously low after a poor season in the Premier League.
Keeping just one clean sheet from 29 Premier League appearances, it is baffling to think that Forest were keen on a move for the dire number 16.
Bold is further reporting that the Foxes remain adamant that Kristiansen must be sold this summer, but they could have to accept their fate of loaning him out, rather than offloading him for good.
It has been alleged that Greek giants Panathinaikos could be prepared to offer the Dane an escape route from the King Power, so it will be intriguing to see what occurs with the heavily criticised Scandinavian.
At the end of the day, the best move for all parties would be to get rid of him permanently, but if no one is willing to cough up the cash, Kristiansen might find himself in loan purgatory, as he somehow remains on the King Power wage bill.
