Leicester City aren't the only sleeping giant calling League One home next season.

Like the Foxes, Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to bounce back from a traumatic fall from grace by immediately sealing promotion back to the Championship, with the stature and history of the Owls way above League One.

Leicester and the South Yorkshire giants are far from being the only ex-Premier League clubs in the lowly league next season, too, with Luton Town also down in the murky depths of the third tier.

Reading is a forgotten former Premier League competitor at this point in time, having last climbed into the top-flight during the 2012/13 season, but the Royals are yet another example of a club that has tasted those past riches, yet are now stuck in League One's grasp.

They'll be aiming for promotion up to the Championship, come the end of the 46-game marathon that will start in August, and they've already sealed a statement signing to try and help them break out.

Reading's statement signing

Despite Wednesday allegedly being in the hunt, Colchester United star Kyreece Lisbie has chosen Reading as his next onward destination this summer.

Huddersfield Town - who are yet another ex-Premier League outfit - were also in the race for the tricky winger, alongside Peterborough United, who have Lisbie's twin brother Kyrell on their books, but he will be lining up for the Royals next season, irrespective of how widespread the interest in his services was.

Meandering to a middle-of-the-road 12th position last season in League One, Reading fans will hope the acqusition of this explosive attacker will push them back into promotion contention.

Collecting 11 goals and eight assists last campaign for the U's, the Royals have a very exciting, direct forward talent on their books now, who will make the likes of Leicester a little wary that the tussle towards the top of the table will be packed full of teams, instead of a comfortable and straightforward ascent to the top.

Promotion won't be a foregone conclusion for Leicester

It is only the early stages of the summer transfer window, but already, Leicester will have been hit over the head with the reality that the rest of the League One clubs in their division next season won't be rolling over for Martin and Co. to easily seal a return to the Championship.

Instead, the likes of Reading will want to unnerve the one-time Premier League champions, but the Foxes do have some statement signings up their sleeve, as well.

Indeed, landing Arthur Okonkwo in between the sticks would be a top-notch buy, with the Nigeria international a prior two-time promotion winner in the EFL, as well as a feared League One shot stopper.

Moreover, Conor Chaplin - who has 48 career goals in the third tier - could soon slip back down to these comfortable surroundings again with Martin's men, as Leicester show off their prowess in the transfer market, as well.

Leicester cannot step foot into League One and arrogantly expect promotion to fall into their lap.

They will have to work hard to exorcise their back-to-back relegation demons, with Reading wanting to extend the Foxes' doom and gloom into the third tier, as Lisbie potentially terrorises the Foxes after leaving Colchester.
