We comment after a recent report carried a claim about potential outgoing Leicester City transfer business that may be upcoming. The suggestion is that four particularly high profile, and very well-paid, LCFC footballers are set to leave King Power Stadium this month. Now that the January window is open for transactions, there is probably some truth to this rumour. City supporters are eagerly awaiting updates on incoming players too. With former West Ham United centre forward Michail Antonio a priority; with the current free agent training at Seagrave.

Yet, as you'll be aware, we can never really know the exact truth until closer to the time of hypothetical departures: when more trusted outlets and journalists begin to cover or validate others' assertions. However, another factor in play here gives credence to the declaration at hand: expiring contracts of still supposedly valuable personnel. So who are the quartet in question? Are they likely to be shipped out? And what is our verdict on each and every one?

Leicester City may offload up to four notable players, three of which have agreements which expire this year, and who collectively pull in £295k-a-week

According to talkSPORT, which I would rate at mid-level for this kind of supposed insight, LCFC have devised a bold manoeuvre. They suggest Harry Winks (has a Leicester deal worth £90,000-per-week which apparently ends in July 2026) is first on the list.

The ex-Tottenham Hotspur man has seemingly fallen out with manager Marti Cifuentes. The former previously had a problem with one-time boss Ruud van Nistelrooy too. Selling Winks this winter is vital!

Patson Daka (2026 expiry with an inexplicable £75,000 weekly wage) is another who has believably outstayed his welcome on Filbert Way. His exit could finally aid the signing of the preferable Michail Antonio. Daka has been linked with leaving for a good while.

Boubakary Soumare is third. I'd rather him stay if it means Jordan James being deployed higher. The Frenchman pulls in an eye-watering £80,000 every week. Wout Faes (£50,000-a-week; expiring in 2027) is the final entry:

"talkSPORT understands that Harry Winks, Wout Faes and Boubakary Soumare all face uncertain futures with the Championship side."
