Leicester City are supposedly plotting a hijack in order to capture a promising young footballer with pedigree. Will the Foxes secure the Manchester City & England Under-21 defender?
Making moves
Now that some valuable or well paid Leicester City stars and peripheral squad members are beginning to leave or approach exits, LCFC are planning on making a few signings. That's the hope on Filbert Way for City chiefs and the Blue Army fan base anyway! And Leicester are said to be eyeing a move for a quality defender. In fact, the East Midlands outfit are reportedly plotting to steal the transfer of a Citizen prospect and notable England Under-21 star. And this is an up-and-coming footballer whom the Foxes support know very well. The player in question's apparent price tag was also revealed during lspeculating; which was picked up by BBC Sport. So, who is the mystery defender? What does this new speculation consist of? Is a move to King Power Stadium realistic? And do Foxes of Leicester rate the 21-year-old?
Leicester City plot transfer hijack of Manchester City & England Under-21 baller Callum Doyle
Worthy recruits are certainly needed at the King Power. But should another centre back be high on the priority list? I'm not convinced.
Although something I am fairly sure of is that Doyle will eventually become a Premier League-standard operator. Being left-footed always seems to be a bonus at the top level. The versatility of playing full back or centre half increases value immensely as well.

You will probably recall that the Man City Academy product was previously on loan at the King Power. Doyle made 17 Championship appearances for the Leicestershire side in 2023/24.
The 21-year-old is reportedly valued at approximately £8-10 million. Norwich City are most frequently linked; apparently he's open to that move. Yet City and Sheffield United have other ideas.
