Three topical stories are on the Leicester City agenda on this occasion. It is Tuesday afternoon at the time of writing, and the Foxes were victorious against Derby County last night. And, man, did LCFC need that win (the second of the season against the Rams) at King Power Stadium over their Midlands rivals.

While the scent of the sack was in the air for City manager Marti Cifuentes prior to kick-off, the quality of certain deployed players such as Ben Nelson, Jordan James and Bobby De Cordova-Reid came to fruition. But more on the derby clash later on; first of all, I will discuss a couple of separate Leicester-related topics.

Leicester City loan transfer reject Odsonne Edouard has title-win chance

Edouard, then an athlete attached to Crystal Palace, was a loan failure on Filbert Way. Although, I said then and will reiterate now: the Frenchman wasn't given much of an opportunity to help the side by more than one Foxes head coach.

Now Edouard has joined RC Lens. He moved in the summer for approximate '€3.7 million'; that figure may rise to €5m should he hit particular milestones.

And the striker is thriving in France's Ligue 1 with the Blood and Gold, so named for their kit colours. The club's top goalscorer finds himself above Pairs Saint-Germain in the table with a chance of lifting the league trophy.

The Foxes finished as the youngest EFL team of the campaign

Leicester Mercury writer Jordan Blackwell has discovered a fascinating and optimistic City statistic. He cited the youth of the finishing LCFC side. I was also surprised to see so many youngsters trusted with a vital three points on the line.

"The 11 that finished the game for #LCFC equalled the youngest starting line-up fielded by a Championship team this season. A spark of hope for 2026."

Derby County standouts

Although Leicester beat Derby, and probably deserved to be victorious, some Rams stood out positively vs City. Below are a couple of examples:

"Sondre Langas: After Stephy Mavididi ran Derby ragged in the first game, the Norwegian faced the unenviable task of facing the winger but he did really well and created a hell of a chance for Brewster. 8"
Derbyshire Live
"Rhian Brewster: The finish for the first goal was a masterclass in keeping your knee over the ball when so many times you see others sky over the bar. Had a glorious chance to score a second, too. Always felt he could make something happen. 7"
