On the one hand, Leicester City Football Club have just been given a slightly premature boost. On the other, the Foxes must brace themselves for trouble in the form of the usual poaching because of the opening of the January transfer window. Let's have a look at two topical stories concerning the King Power outfit today.
It is currently New Year's Eve, Eve (it isn't really a thing, but I'm championing the recognition of December 30). All jokes aside, us members of the Blue Army fan base can have a sense of humour once again due to beating Derby County on Monday night. Lovely stuff - in the words of Shakin' Stevens to Alan Partridge!
Right, I am sure you'd rather hear about LCFC rather than have me attempt to entertain you. So let's get going.
Leicester City get early striker boost before winter transfer market activates
If you ask me, Jordan Ayew shouldn't be in the City starting lineup. I know for a fact that I am not alone in that view. As a matter of fact - I am probably stating the obvious.
This sentiment is nothing against Ayew as a professional, particularly. And certainly not a swipe at him as a man; it is merely a footballing viewpoint.
Versus Derby County, Ayew was arguably the least impressive Fox. He seems out of place up front; but he has also appeared incongruous in his favoured wing role as well. So, oddly, I am delighted that Patson Daka is returning. And I never thought I would utter that sentence!

I'll level with you - I am worried about Abdul Fatawu leaving soon. However, as he has no reported release clause, I expected his exit in the summer, sadly. Yet as Bournemouth require an Antoine Semenyo replacement, others circle too:
"The report goes on to reiterate Sunderland’s prior interest in the player, stating that both the Black Cats and Everton enquired about Fatawu last summer, with his current employers demanding in excess of £30 million for his services. It is also claimed that Crystal Palace were keen at one stage, prior to him signing for Leicester."
