A formerly impending but definitely startling culture shock has now landed in Leicestershire. The Blue Army awoke to the paradoxical alarm of awaiting a League One fixture list.
On what is usually a life-affirming, optimistic day for football fans around the world, in this case, England, the occasion was ironically not so buoyant for the Foxes. You see, Leicester City supporters possess a great sense of humour on average, and their collective wit was certainly required on Thursday, June 25.
Entertaining Notts County, a rival on paper, serves as an initial, eye-opening reality check that many are begrudgingly looking forward to. Luckily for those who will not be attending that opening clash, nor many throughout the long season, the club's tier-three opener has been confirmed for live television selection.
Many of City's matches will presumably be televised on Sky Sports, as a greater number of encounters are broadcast from this division than many observers appear to expect. Certain fans from LE2, such as talkSPORT's Jason Bourne, have already selected and circled specific contests to put in their Blue diaries.
Leicester City 2026/27 fixture list
Bourne's highlights include the home encounter against Burton on August 22, the Boxing Day fixture against Wimbledon at King Power Stadium, and the trip to face Leyton Orient on December 29. Furthermore, he points toward the New Year's Day meeting with Wycombe Wanderers as a significant outing in the schedule.

Equally testing ventures are set for various outposts elsewhere. The campaign concludes with a home fixture against Cambridge United on May 8, 2027, as the Foxes navigate their way toward the title, promotion or, at the very least, an EFL Playoff spot.
Leicester City will kick-off their League One campaign with a trip to Notts County on August 15 - 12.30pm kick-off.

Burton Albion (H), MK Dons (A), Plymouth (H), Oxford (H) and Stockport (A) make up first 6. #LCFC https://t.co/zqoPywxAOA
New head coach Russell Martin will find his pedigree under scrutiny following the initial six fixtures. Which include County, Burton Albion at home, a trip to MK Dons, and home meetings with Plymouth Argyle and Oxford United, followed by a journey to Stockport County.
