Gary Rowett is a likeable chap. He is certainly a well-spoken football manager from my decade of covering the game. The current Leicester City head coach's morals and footballing ethics all appear to be correct. And he clearly wants the best for the Foxes; a struggling club he once represented
Everyone makes mistakes; Rowett's Norwich City game plan can be criticised for being antiquated and counterintuitive defensively. Yet his players offered him very little when considering the amount they are paid and the honour bestowed upon them.
Below are the Player Ratings with added sentiment.
Leicester City scores
Jakub Stolarczyk – 6: Apparent the standout performer. Made several vital saves preventing a heavier defeat. Though he is drastically uncomfortable on crosses and sweeping up.
Ben Nelson – 5: Showed composure in the heart of the defense for much of the game. Aimless clearances must cease.
Luke Thomas – 7: Provided a decent outlet on the left and was arguably solid compared to one or two peers. Still had his moments, but better.
Ricardo Pereira – 6: Attempted to spark attacks from right back but his final delivery often lacked necessary quality. Less posted in defence these days.
Caleb Okoli – 5: Was generally solid but was at fault for a goal and the nonexistent, Sunday league transitions.
Harry Winks – 6: Controlled the tempo early on and forced a good save in the first half. But his influence waned as the game progressed.
Oliver Skipp – 5: Failed to impose himself on the midfield and struggled against Canary energy, especially before the interval.
Abdul Fatawu – 6: Recalled to the starting XI but unable to find his clinical edge even after often beating his man.
Divine Mukasa – 5: Found it difficult to create clear openings against a very disciplined backline.
Bobby De Cordova-Reid – 5: A quiet afternoon for the attacker; struggled to link play effectively and a candidate to be dropped.
Patson Daka – 6: Lacked service for most of the match; a frustrated, isolated figure up front. Had two superbly subtle touches in the first half.
