The Foxes have been blessed with some of the very best goalkeepers and we are really spoilt for choice in compiling a list of the top ten. We complete our count down today with the top two.

2.  Kasper Schmeichel is a Leicester legend not least because he was the goalkeeper when the club won their two most important trophies. That alone justifies a lofty position in our list, although whether he should be as high as second is, of course, a matter of opinion. Kasper spent 11 years at the King Power making 479 appearances (the third highest behind Adam Black and Graham Cross) and only moved on in 2022 when it became clear the club were reluctant to offer him another contract. Had Kasper stayed on, many fans think the club might have avoided relegation.

The Dane's record is very good, conceding only 509 goals in his Leicester career with a goals per game average putting him fifth in the all-time list, although it should be remembered that, unlike Gordon Banks, three of his 11 seasons were in the second tier. Like many City keepers, he was not the best commanding his area, sometimes struggling with corners, but was an excellent shot stopper. Foxes’ fans will remember with great affection his two penalty saves, against Sevilla in the 2016-17 Champions League last 16 tie as well as a brilliant save against Chelsea towards the end of the 2021 FA Cup Final preserving City’s lead.
