Stephy Mavididi the difference-maker - I haven't been able to say that much this season! As a matter of fact, that scenario simply hasn't occurred at all. Patson Daka the goalscorer and match-winner - another anomaly! As you will know, it's now almost a year since that last happened.
The Zambia international will be most relieved of all in particular because he avoided the previously mentioned, unwanted record. Meanwhile the winger was an important asset at King Power Stadium; we desperately needed the real Mavididi back!
But other Foxes helped the cause massively yesterday and can hold their collective heads high too. So who were the East Midlands side's best performers on the day? Here are Leicester's winners and, possibly, losers from the Stoke City win.
The Foxes who stood out versus Stoke City
As ever when producing this particular article, we do offer a few of our own verdicts. In addition to Foxes of Leicester's views, we typically consult Leicester Mercury for their match player ratings too. This gives a balanced overview from two outlets. Let's begin.
First of all, experienced LCFC goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. The current No.1 is winning over the Blue Army in Jakub Stolarczyk's absence.
Although, his former fan base at Stoke City aren't best pleased with the Bosnian - bless them! Click here to read that story.
Begovic scored a valiant '8' by making some great saves etcetera. Elsewhere it was Mavididi (8) and Daka (7) who took the remaining plaudits.
Did any Leicester City stars have a bad game?
City's defence were not lauded for a fine performance as a unit. Full backs Luke Thomas and Ricardo Pereira scored separate 5s. Meanwhile Jannik Vestergaard and were Faes were handed respective 6s.
"Abdul Fatawu: A very, very quiet match by his standards. He did not threaten out wide at all, barely getting into possession, never mind past Cresswell. But he still delivered when it mattered, making the right run, and then putting the right weight on the pass, for Daka’s goal. 5"Leicester Mercury
Abdul Fatawu only managed a rating of 5. The winger's consistency is a worry. While substitute Boubakary Soumare got a worrying 4.
