A few of the usual Leicester City subjects let themselves down again at Blackburn Rovers, in spite of a 1-0 away victory. Gary Rowett's men didn't quite dominate, and had to hold on nervously somewhat for their needless and almost irritating three points.
Whilst some stood strong, a rarity in this team, others predictably folded! It is just teasing for the Blue Army support that this generally deplorable bunch of Foxes were victorious with a clean sheet against a former relegation rival when it doesn't matter anymore!
City may finish with slight aplomb, yet their season was the worst imaginable for their loyal faithful. Nevertheless, appraising the playes is the necessity.
How Leicester City's 'stars' fared at Blackburn Rovers
Goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk staked his claim to be the No.1 next year (God help LCFC!) with a typically indifferent display. Ricardo Pereira didn't particularly cover himself in glory as his anticlimax of an exit was confirmed. Well wishes, none the less!
Luke Thomas may even struggle in League One, with set-piece crossing his only real strong point to mention. However, centre back pairing Harry Souttar and Jannik Vestergaard could find their calling in the EFL with more partnered performances such as this.
Harry Winks shouldn't even be anywhere near matchday teams for obvious reasons. That selection is a real blight on Gary Rowett's, to be candid, unpopular and failed tenure.
Hamza Choudhury announced to fans that he'd like to stay (lucky them!); he performed satisfactorily. Jeremy Monga would clearly benefit from remaining at Seagrave for further development.
Meanwhile Louis Page should star in the subsequent campaign. Stephy Mavididi, despite scoring, must take a long, hard look in the mirror!
Thankfully, this was likely Patson Daka's final goalless, anticlimactic City match! Leicester Mercury's player ratings are below:
Stolarczyk 6
Ricardo 5
Souttar 8
Vestergaard 8
Thomas 4
Choudhury 7
Winks 5
Monga 5
Page 7
Mavididi 5
Daka 4
