Thursday was a busy day on Filbert Way for an ever-changing Leicester City Football Club. It appears as though the LCFC hierarchy actually acted with some impetus for a change. Wow!

The Foxes ownership did not merely sit around crying into their beers or staying up all night pondering Thomas Tuchel's tactical errors, like yours truly. No, for once, City executives have shown decisive willing and made a couple of decent decisions.

As a matter of fact, the Conor Chaplin acquisition may actually be a brilliant signing. The former Ipswich Town and Portsmouth attacking midfielder could be mightily impactful at King Power Stadium in League One; look out for his influence next season.

Meanwhile, three other movements have occurred in Leicestershire with respect to the squad. First of all, Leicester bosses pleased fans no end after terminating Danish failure Jannik Vestergaard's unnecessarily lucrative contract.

The centre back represents one of the most baffling, needlessly expensive and ill-advised signings of the King Power era. Along with other undesirables such as Harry Winks, Vestergaard duly ripped up any remaining quality culture at City and made ignorant, selfish player power the new norm at the club's training ground.

Goalkeeping changes at Leicester City

Yet that was not the end of the activity as the week progressed: a goalkeeper arrived and another stopper simultaneously exited LE2. Yes, Asmir Begovic is the man to depart, as the well-informed Blue Army had probably guessed.

Begovic was a good man, and a fairly competent keeper. Though he was clearly feeling the effects of time at 39 years of age. Alex McCarthy, however, is three years younger at 36 and has replaced the Bosnian as the veteran member of the goalkeeping union.

"I'm looking forward to working with the other goalkeepers, competing every day and playing my part in what we want to achieve."

Although the transition marks a clear shift in personnel, there is a burgeoning sense that McCarthy did not arrive at Leicester simply to occupy a space on the bench. He is actually forecast to go for the increasingly rocky Jakub Stolarczyk's coveted No.1 shirt, according to what this outlet believes.

This tactical adjustment in the goalkeeping department signifies a desire for more reliability and a certain by-foot style between the sticks as Martin aims for stability. Whether this move proves as inspired as the capture of Chaplin remains to be seen, yet there is a refreshed sense of purpose in the East Midlands.

Upon arrival, McCarthy justified reuniting with his old gaffer. He also stated that LCFC is 'the right challenge'.
